Right this very minute I can still hear the sounds of welcome. As loud as they can be, our neighbors banged the largest kettle they could find, my family's outside lighting the one small firecracker they bought earlier. I am here turning the radio the loudest dial possible.
Cars are still honking. Even sirens. Lady Gaga's music now back on the playlist.
